Vickie Smith
Graduated in 1997 from Lake Superior State University with a B.S. in Wildlife
and Fisheries Management. In 2002, she received a M.S. from South Dakota State
University in Wildlife Science. She specialized in GIS mapping of wildlife habitats
for the state of South Dakota and coordinated the completion of South Dakota’s Gap Analysis Program (SD-GAP) which included
land cover mapping, habitat mapping for approximately 350 wildlife (game and non-game) species and delineation of public land
boundaries for South Dakota.
After completion of SD-GAP, she participated in the Upper Missouri River Basin Gap
Analysis Program for fish species (yet unpublished). This project included river
delineation, land cover mapping, and delineation of public lands for portions of 7 states (MT, WY, SD, ND, MN, IA, and NE)
and 2 Canadian provinces (Sask and Alberta).
