Prescribed fire is an important tool used to maintain fire dependent ecosystems and restore essential natural processes and functions.  Many native plant communities are fire-dependent and require periodic burning.  Wildlife and Wetlands Solutions staff has years of experience in planning and conducting prescribed burns in a safe, controlled fashion.  We encourage and use prescribed burning as a very effective tool in helping enrich soils, control invasive plants, regenerate native plants, control brush, reduce hazardous fuel buildups and maintenance of fire dependent ecosystems.  We also specialize in marsh burning which helps create openings, rejuvenate fertility, and helps reduce the amount of dead accumulated plant debris.
